Storage Soho Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Storage Soho has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. Storage Soho is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships, and to implementing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or in any of our supplier relationships.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Storage Soho maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, servitude, human trafficking, child labour, debt bondage, and any form of exploitation that deprives a person of their freedom or dignity. This policy applies to all employees, contractors, agency workers, consultants, and suppliers who work with or on behalf of Storage Soho.
We expect everyone associated with Storage Soho to uphold the highest standards of human rights and labour practices. Any breach of this policy is treated as a serious matter and may result in disciplinary action, termination of contracts, and reporting to the appropriate authorities where required.
Our Supply Chain Standards
Storage Soho recognises that the risk of modern slavery can be present at various stages of the supply chain. We therefore require our suppliers, service providers, and business partners to align with our ethical standards and to demonstrate robust labour and human rights practices.
Supplier onboarding processes include due diligence checks designed to identify potential risks related to modern slavery and human trafficking. We prioritise working with suppliers who can evidence responsible employment practices, transparency in their own supply chains, and compliance with applicable labour and human rights laws.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
To support the implementation of our zero-tolerance approach, Storage Soho conducts proportionate supplier audits and ongoing monitoring. These activities may include desktop assessments, requests for supporting documentation, and where appropriate, on-site visits to review working conditions and labour practices.
Where risks are identified, we work with suppliers to address concerns through corrective action plans and clear timeframes for improvement. If a supplier fails to remedy identified issues or is found to be involved in modern slavery or human trafficking, Storage Soho reserves the right to suspend or terminate the relationship.
Employee Awareness and Responsibilities
All Storage Soho employees share responsibility for upholding our commitment to prevent modern slavery. We promote awareness of the signs and risks of exploitation and encourage staff to remain vigilant when engaging with suppliers, contractors, and third parties.
Managers are responsible for ensuring that their teams understand our zero-tolerance policy and for embedding ethical considerations into day-to-day decision-making, including procurement and contractor selection.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Storage Soho encourages anyone who has concerns or suspicions about modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected to our business or supply chains to report them without delay. Concerns can be raised through internal reporting channels, including line managers or designated senior management, or in accordance with our whistleblowing procedures.
All reports are taken seriously and will be investigated promptly and, where appropriate, independently. We are committed to protecting anyone who raises a concern in good faith from retaliation, victimisation, or detrimental treatment. The identity of individuals making reports will be treated confidentially as far as is reasonably practicable.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Storage Soho recognises that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to continually improving our policies, procedures, and due diligence processes in response to emerging risks, changes in legislation, and best practice guidance.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually by the Storage Soho leadership team. The review considers the effectiveness of our controls, the outcomes of supplier audits, any reported concerns, and opportunities for improvement. Where necessary, we update our approach and communicate changes to employees and relevant suppliers to ensure that our commitment to preventing modern slavery remains robust and effective.
This statement reflects the position and actions of Storage Soho for the current financial year and will be updated on an annual basis.
